Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, was born in Chintamadaka, Medak Dist, Telangana, India to Sri. Raghava Rao and Smt. Venkatamma on February 17, 1954 . After leading the Telangana movement to its desired end, he became the first Chief Minister of the State. He is also the founder President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which was in the forefront of the movement for Statehood to Telangana. He has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for multiple terms from different constituencies. He was also a Member of Parliament and has also held the position of a Cabinet Minister for Labour and Employment.

Sri Chandrashekar Rao attained a Master's degree in Telugu Literature from Arts College-Osmania University, Hyderabad.

His political journey started as a member of Youth Congress from Medak district in 1970. Shri Chandrashekar Rao joined the TDP in 1983. He was a member of AP Assembly from 1985 to 2004. He served as Minister of State in Government of Andhra Pradesh during 1987-88 and as a Cabinet Minister during 1997-99. He served as Deputy Speaker of AP Assembly during 1999-2001.

On 27 April 2001, Rao resigned from the Deputy Speaker and MLA positions. He also quit TDP at the same time and launched Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) with the sole objective of realising Statehood to Telangana region.

In 2003, he was elected National Convener for New States Front. In 2004, Chandrashekar Rao became a Member of Parliament from Karimnagar Loksabha Constituency and became a Cabinet Minister at the UPA -I. He resigned from Union Cabinet in 2006 alleging the procrastination on the issue by the then Union government.

In November 2009, he undertook fast unto death demanding the creation of Telangana State. Consequently, the Union Home Minister on 9 December 2009 made a statement saying that the process of formation of Telangana has been initiated.

After a prolonged agitation, the Union government finally granted the Statehood to Telangana region and passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation, Bill 2013 in both the Houses of Parliament in February 2014 effecting the creation of Telangana State.

In 2014 general elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi emerged victorious in 63 of the 119 Assembly seats thereby securing the required number of legislators for forming the government along with highest vote share among political parties. KCR was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of Telangana.

Sri K Chandrashekar Rao envisions leading Telangana into a new era of inclusive and sustainable development.

He is married to Smt. Shobha and has two children. Their son Shri K.T. Rama Rao, has been elected as a legislator from Sircilla, Karimnagar district and is a Cabinet Minister of Telangana State. His daughter, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, is an M.P from Nizamabad constituency.

​Shri Ekkadu Srinivasan Lakshminarasimhan was born in Tamilnadu in 1945. After an initial two year Schooling at the Little Flower High School at Hyderabad, he completed his entire education from Chennai. Migrating from physics to political science Shri Narasimhan is a Gold Medalist from the Madras Presidency College. He is also a graduate in Law from the Madras Law College.

Shri Narasimhan joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1968, and was allotted Andhra Pradesh cadre. After a year's stint at Nandyal, he also did short tenures of a few months at Narasampet and Ongole before moving to the Intelligence Bureau in 1972. He spent the rest of his service, till he demitted office on December, 2006 in the Intelligence Bureau.

In the Intelligence Bureau, Shri Narasimhan held various assignments relating to national/internal security and was the Director, Intelligence Bureau from January, 2005 to December, 2006. Shri Narasimhan has a keen interest in application of technology for national security purposes.

Shri Narasimhan has done two tenures in the Ministry of External Affairs. In the first instance he was posted as First Secretary in the Embassy of India, Moscow from 1981-84. During the assignment his role was a combine of physical security measures for the Mission premises and personnel security besides counter intelligence responsibility.

Shri Narasimhan has also served in the Ministry of External Affairs from 1996-99 when he held the responsibility of overseeing the security aspects both human and physical of all the Indian Missions overseas.

Shri Narasimhan is also an alumnus of the National Defence College. He has varied interests ranging from getting to know people to music. He enjoys both Karnatic and Hindustani music.

On demitting office as Director, Intelligence Bureau on December 31, 2006, Shri Narasimhan took over as Governor of Chhattisgarh on January 25, 2007, in which capacity he played a pivotal role in coordinating Centre-State efforts in countering the Maoist menace in Chhattisgarh.

Shri Narasimhan moved over as Governor of Andhra Pradesh in January, 2010.

Shri Narasimhan is appointed as Governor of Andhra Pradesh for another term of 5 years on 03-05-2012.

Shri Narasimhan also assumed charge of the office of the Governor of Telangana on 02-06-2014 consequent to bifurcation of the state into successor states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Shri Narasimhan is happily married to Smt. Vimala Narasimhan. The Narasimhans have two sons both of whom are married and are proud grand parents of three grandchildren.

High Court

  • The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is the common High Court for two States.
  • The Andhra Pradesh High Court was renamed as High court of Hyderabad in view of bifurcation the State into Telangana and truncated Andhra Pradesh. From 2 June 2014, after the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 came into force, it has been renamed and serves as a common high court for both the states.

Profile

Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale was born on 24th October 1956. After completing his education and obtaining a Degree of Law from Government Law College, Mumbai, he joined the Bar in June-1980.

Since then he was practicing in the Bombay High Court at Mumbai till his elevation as Judge of that Court on 22nd January, 2001. He was then transferred to Karnataka High Court on 6th January, 2012 and then to Hyderabad High Court vide notification dated 1st December, 2014. He assumed the charge as a Senior-most Judge of this High Court on 8th December, 2014.

He took over the office of the Chief Justice of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of the Andhra Pradesh on 7 May, 2015.

Art and Craft of Telangana

Economy of Telangana

  • Agriculture is the main source of economy in Telangana. The rivers Godavari and Krishna aid in irrigation. Local crops include rice, cotton, mango and tobacco. Sunflower and peanuts are also grown for producing oil. Multi-state irrigation projects include Godavari River Basin Irrigation Projects and Nagarjuna Sagar Dam which is the world's highest masonry dam. Hyderabad is the main source of revenue as there is lot of economic activity here.
  • Hyderabad is known for IT Parks and IT-enabled services (ITeS). There are Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Telangana. Manufacturing units are based in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak and Nalgonda districts. Mining, food processing, dairy and farming, poultry also aid in economy of Telangana state.    
  • Hyderabad is the torch-bearer for all other districts in Telangana with an international airport in place, educational institutions, skilled professionals, Metro-rail project, suitable weather, IT Parks and infrastructural growth. 
  • Nirmal wooden toys and Dhokra casting crafts of Adilabad are famous all over the country. Hyderabad emerged as a pharmaceutical and biotechnology hub and is known as "Genome Valley of India". 'Fab City' and the 'Nano Technology park' signify  infrastructural growth in the field of Bio-technology in Hyderabad.
  • Khammam district is known for growing horticultural crops such as  mango, cocoa, banana, coconut, oil palm, cashew, pepper etc. 
  • Economy of Karimnagar depends more on agriculture and related industries such as rice mills, saw, oil, animal husbandry, seed and other processing mills. There are industries which manufacture tiles, stone dressing and crushing, paper, cement concrete pipes etc. Silver filigree work is famous too. Jammikunta is an important industrial city in Karimnagar district. 
  • Adilabad district, Khammam district, Medak district, Warangal district, Ranga Reddy district and Nizamabad district are receiving funds from Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGF).

                                                                 
  • Since lime stone is readily available in Nalgonda district and also in the neighbouring Guntur district, Nalgonda is a cement manufacturing centre in Telangana. There are large number of Cement industries in Nalgonda. Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district is famous for rice mills. There are many banks, few small scale industries and cement and fertilizer industries in Ranga Reddy district.
  • Society for Andhra Pradesh Network (SAPNET)is presently running 4 television channels known as MANA TV and one data channel. These channels provide distance learning for school education, telemedicine, e-governance and rural development and agriculture.
